PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENTS Microsoft Corp. announced the worldwide availability of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, the cloud version of the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 release. Microsoft Dynamics CRM equips business professionals with access to customer information through a familiar Microsoft Outlook experience, which helps ensure rapid user adoption and fast results. And with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, companies get the same powerful CRM software delivered as a cloud service from Microsoft, enabling instant-on anywhere access, predictable pay as you go pricing and a financially backed service level agreement (SLA). Microsystems announced new functionality and Modules with the release of DocXtools 6.1 SR1. The release of DocXtools 6.1 SR1, the doc to docx Module and Metadata Module enables law firm IT departments to deploy a legal-centric Office 2010/2007 desktop that improves authoring efficiency while leveraging investments in Microsoft technology. Developed for use by non-expert Word users, the doc to docx Module safely promotes (or demotes) Microsoft Word .doc files to (or from) .docx while preventing issues such as loss of numbering and changes to pagination, line spacing and formatting. MyCase, Inc. announced the release of MyCase 2.0. The new version expands the cloud-based client portal by incorporating critical practice management, time and billing, and trust accounting features with a social networking style that is instantly familiar to attorneys, staff and clients. MyCase, social practice management, advances client communications and collaboration, increases mobility and helps attorneys build successful practices. Nexidia and 7Safe eDiscovery Services announced that 7Safe will host Nexidia’s Audio Discovery software in its data center. The expanded relationship is designed to help clients more efficiently review and analyze audio and video content. Nexidia’s Search software will be installed at the brand-new and highly- secure 7Safe data center, and 7Safe’s eDiscovery consultants will work directly with clients to help them obtain optimal results. and Nextpoint, Inc. announced that its trial preparation and presentation software, Trial Cloud, is now fully optimized for mobile tablet devices running either Apple iOS or Android operating systems. Nextpoint’s Trial Cloud is an effective, cost- efficient platform for managing large volumes of evidence for litigation, including depositions, transcripts e-mail and other electronically stored information (ESI), in a single, integrated environment. Pinpoint Labs announced the release of the latest addition to its One Click Collect family of forensic software, Harvester 2.0. This new version is designed to perform keyword culling for loose files and Microsoft Outlook PST files and attachments, making it the perfect choice for projects requiring targeted collections outlined in legal holds. With the ability to dedupe and regenerate new PST files, the size of ESI collections can be significantly reduced without the costs associated with per gigabyte or custodian fees. ProLaw has announced the integration of Verdatum’s legal-centric digital dictation system. The digital dictation solution is in keeping with the philosophy of both companies to provide integrated end-to-end solutions that enable attorneys to increase billable hours and operational efficiencies, such as document creation and secretarial functions. It enables a law firm to be more competitive and profitable at the same time. and RainMaker Software, Inc. announced the release of XLerator with Dynamic Link. XLerator with Dynamic Link provides a direct link between Microsoft Excel and the data stored in the firm’s databases, including Financial Management. This means that any piece of data, in any module, can be retrieved in Excel, making the spreadsheet analysis virtually endless. Since the initial adoption of the spreadsheet as a means of reporting in the 1990s, it has been nearly impossible for non-technical users to point and click on data elements from a list and then have that information immediately appear in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. RealPractice, Inc. announced significant new features and improvements to My RealPractice, an online marketing and practice management platform for solos and small firms. Firms may now take advantage of new tools to easily build professional websites, manage incoming client leads and track the effectiveness of online and offline marketing campaigns. My RealPractice, which first launched as a beta version last November, has received rave reviews from solos and small firms looking for alternatives to comprehensively, yet affordably manage their practices. Rocket Matter announced the launch of RocketCLE, an on-demand continuing legal education online store. With RocketCLE, users can purchase and view entertaining and high-quality CLE courses over the Internet at anytime of the day. Initial content focuses on legal ethics and Rocket Matter’s core message of improved productivity and law firm efficiency. SharePoint Solutions has released SharePoint Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant (SPGA) for SharePoint 2010, an add-on which allows administrators to control the creation, provisioning and approval of SharePoint 2010 sites, while enabling users to select the type of site they need and empowering them to do the actual work. Multiple sites may be created and provisioned through a single request. Shepherd Data Services (SDS) announced it has rebranded and added seasoned professionals to its team. SDS provides services that bridge from collection to review of data for law firms, professional services firms, corporations and government entities. This unveiling reflects its leadership position in the marketplace and affords SDS to remain at the forefront of technology and service offerings to legal clientele. Tikit Group announced the release of Carpe Diem Mobile (CD Mobile). CD Mobile is the next generation mobile platform for BlackBerry smartphones and provides seamless integration into Carpe Diem Classic and Carpe Diem Enterprise (formerly TimeKM). The release delivers a new feature set including torch support for the BlackBerry “Torch” device. In addition to full Torch support, CD Mobile offers a new management module which provides full reporting/ inquiry of time inventory via a calendar view (including drill down capability) directly on the mobile device. Traveling Coaches now bundles varying levels of User Adoption Consulting services in with their industry-leading Office 2010 Rollout Kit, composed of communication and learning tools and best practices. The newly-designed offering ensures that Office 2010 projects are designed to achieve optimal user adoption through strategic planning, effective communications and tailored learning and support. Winscribe announced that it is the first company globally to bring the benefits of business process management to the world of digital dictation. Winscribe has integrated Winscribe Dictation with its recently released Winscribe BPM software, so that Winscribe customers now have access to unprecedented functionality in digital dictation. Leveraging the graphical workflow designer within Winscribe BPM, customers can quickly create and modify dictation processes without the need for custom development., Inc. announced its formal launch of CompanyManager. The software allows corporate legal departments to organize, evaluate and track legal documents, contracts and processes related to company transactions such as IPOs, stock funds, mergers and acquisitions. The software also enables collaboration between companies and their law firm, thereby reducing redundancies, creating a centralized repository for legal activities and allowing companies to access their law firm’s standard forms, contracts, and practice guides. Workshare released Workshare Point, software which enables users to retrieve and file content to Microsoft SharePoint without leaving Microsoft Office applications. The Workshare Point solution provides a tight integration between the Office products and SharePoint, so users may access SharePoint quickly and easily from within the familiar Office and Outlook navigation interfaces.
