TORONTO, Dec. 14, 2011. -- Inbound marketing software provider Mygazines (http://www.mygazines.com) today launched a partnership with Microsoft Tag, a tool that enables engagement with digital content via 2D barcodes. Audiences simply download Microsoft’s Tag scanning app (http://gettag.mobi), capture the full-color code and load interactive page-flipping content via Mygazines’ HTML5 browser based solution.

The Tag Mygazines integration is available to all of Mygazines’ clients, including Research in Motion, Dupont, Thomson Reuters, Grant Thornton and over 1000 other active users. Digital catalogs, interactive brochures, magazines, textbooks and corporate documents are among the usecases.

“Mygazines is a solution that is reaching the marketing and publishing community, linking the physical world to the digital world through the use of Microsoft Tag,” said Paul Cunnington, Director Startup Business Group at Microsoft. “Tags can be place on billboards, posters, in-store signage, magazines, etc. offering value added content to most any physical item.”

Cunnington also pointed out how Tag differs from standard QR Codes. "Microsoft’s Tag technology one ups the QR code in terms of innovation, scale and product features. Users can predefine expiration dates for codes and brand or theme Tag codes without leaving the Mygazines cloud solution.”

“Many marketers and publishers struggle with where to direct their Tags for an engaging mobile experience. This integration helps our clients and Tag marketers bring audiences from print materials to an interactive experience that leverages the tablet and smartphone frenzy,” said Randy Frisch, Chief Operating Officer at Mygazines. “Tag’s abilities make accessing our user’s content on a tablet or smartphone even simpler than a click.”

12/14/2010: Mygazines Brings a True App-Like Experience to Any Browser with Mobile 3.0

Toronto.–  Digital publishing leader Mygazines today announced the launch of its Mobile 3.0 Beta, an app-like software that works on any mobile device. The HTML5-based system mimics an in-app experience by supporting video, links, high quality zooming, pinching, swiping, text-only mode, fast content loading and spreads all without the need, although the option, to access from an app store.

Available as part of Mygazines’ digital publishing software package, Mobile 3.0 lets publishers, professionals and corporations produce optimized mobile editions via the same URL they would use for the desktop solution. Users simply access a link, and the platform automatically detects the device and shows a unique interface.

“With so many different gadgets entering the market, we wanted a solution that was geared to meet our customers’ needs today and in the future. Mobile 3.0 provides the ability to adapt to mobile browsers across different devices,” said Yoav Schwartz, CEO, Mygazines. “Now more content creators will be able to render digital, app-like experiences for magazines, catalogs, brochures and other documents in minutes rather than months.”

Mobile 3.0 currently works on almost any modern touch-screen device, including the iPhone, iPad, Android phones and Blackberry Torch which, according to Comscore, account for more than 80% of the smartphone and tablet market.

“Mygazines Mobile 3.0 simplifies the process for adapting to the mobile market for the content creator. For an end-user, with no need to ‘download an app’ or alter engagement by device, adoption is natural,” said Chief Marketing Officer Randy Frisch.

Nevertheless, Mygazines launched its wr(App)s, which allow for distributing content on the Apple App Store and Android App Market. Content is wrapped as a native app and made available on the storefronts that based on a 2010 study by AdMobs, make up for almost 90% of mobile app sales in North America and Europe.

“The ability to be listed on the App stores through a wr(App) is the only item we charge extra for; it’s priced at a fifth of what some of our competitors are charging,”  explained Frisch. “By adding wr(App)s in conjunction with our Mobile 3.0 launch, Mygazines is offering our customers one of the industry’s most comprehensive professional digital publishing solutions.”

11/03/2010: Mygazines Launches Location-Based Distribution and a Flexible Approach to Pricing Digital Content

Toronto.- Digital Publishing leader Mygazines today announced the launch of Geo Targeted Campaigns, the first service for distributing tailored versions of a publication by region. With this feature, location-based versions of digital editions can now be delivered to more than 200 countries, thousands of specific cities and each of the five continents.

With geo-targeting, users receive a dedicated URL and a targeted version of the publication loads according to their geographical area. For example, someone in San Francisco will see a different publication than someone in New York, all using the same link.

“For publishers, marketers and advertisers, this feature represents new revenue opportunities and the ability to tailor content to key audiences by geographic region,” said Randy Frisch, Chief Marketing Officer, Mygazines. “For example, if a publisher distributes its content through five countries, local advertisers would be able to buy and display content in the areas that they are interested in. In this case, readers will get the same editorial content but would interact with different ads. At the same time, there is also flexibility to tailor the content for every region.”

In addition, Mygazines announced a flexible pricing structure with Packs catered for every business type, Professionals, Publishers and Corporations. Starting at $199 per month, customers will have the ability to create fully interactive and mobile publications and access key features including multimedia and analytics.

“Whether you’re a small or large company, our Packs are designed to provide the flexibility to upload as much content as you need on a monthly basis at a cost that is attractive,” said Frisch. “On a per document basis we charge as little as $16 and no more than $66, with no long term contracts. We don’t charge per page uploaded and we don’t expect you to guesstimate your needs beyond the next 30 days. After all, who forecasts their content creation in that way?”

Geo Targeting is one of Mygazines’ numerous product launches this year. The Canadian-based company recently launched an auto links detection feature and branded URLs for distribution.
