Mygazines Mobile 3.0 is a completely new, built-from-the-ground up, mobile web-app.

This is in beta phase so you still have the option to continue with the Mygazines Mobile 2.0 platform.
Here is all you need to know about this launch:
- Get a true 'app' experience: natural gestures such as one finger swiping to flip pages and pinch-to-zoom on supported devices
- View Videos and listen to MP3s on iPhone and iPad (Android support coming soon!)
- All of Mygazines features and tools are available (except the widget area which is coming soon!)
- All subscription management features remain intact and are available
- No action is required to make ALL uploaded issues Mygazines Mobile 3.0 ready
- Mygazines Mobile 3.0 supports ALL modern webkit web-browsers including iPhone/iPad, Android and Blackberry OS 6.0 (More devices are planned to be supported in early 2011)
- Mobile Version 2.0 will be served automatically to those devices that do not support the new platform
Your publication will now look and perform even better on the most popular mobile devices out there!
If you want to revert to the old Mobile 2.0, you can do this by editing your title and changing the mobile version on the Appearance/Options tab.

How do I promote my mobile editions?
Want people to start reading your content on multiple devices? Remember that readers can use the same URL to access your publication on different phones, tablets and other gadgets. But here are some specific tips to promote your mobile editions.
How do I edit and optimize text for the 'text-only' function on the mobile interface?
The text-only function -
- lets your readers load only the text on the current page and increases the usability of reading fine print on mobile devices. Our system even lets you enhance that text - separate articles, include upper/lower caps to differentiate elements, modify details. This is how you do it.
1) Go to your account and click on the
button besides the issue whose textual content you wish to modify. Then click on
.

2) On the 'Manage articles' section, view the list of articles for that issue, pick the one you wish to edit and click on its
button.

3) A new window will pop-up. The textual content will load on edit mode and you'll be able to modify it.

4) When you finish, click on
and the text will be displayed on multiple mobile devices just as you expect.

Are statistics tracked for mobile views?
YES!
All available statistics get tracked when the mobile version of your publication is read. That includes:
- page and issue reads
- zoom tracking (on mobile, the tracked position of the zoom is always defaulted to the center because of the small screen size)
- email shares
- social bookmarks
- link click-through
We've bundled these statistics with your existing stats as we believe the mobile reading experience is as valid as reading your publications on larger screens
How can users read on such small devices?
We developed two features to increase the usability of reading fine print on mobile devices: a zoom function, and a "T" button to load only textual content.
Users can zoom-in up to three times. They simply press anywhere on the page and it will be magnified.
If readers press the 'T' button, the system will quickly load only the text on the current page. The interface will also auto-adjust to landscape or portrait mode.

In the end, reading on a mobile device is easy and readers still hold true to the original layout and reading experience.
Are all of Mygazines' features available on the mobile reading interface?
Virtually all of Mygazines' features are available on the mobile reading interface, including:
- Page flipping -

- Article lists -

- Social bookmarking -

- E-mail sharing -

- Page thumbnails -

- Zoom
- Internal page links as well as website links
- Subscription module and Title security login
If the text is too small to read even by zooming in, a text-only option (
button) can be used to load a text only version of a page.
You don't even need a different URL address to read Mygazines editions on your device. The mobile version is accessed via the same publication URL. The system automatically recognizes the device and, if supported, loads the mobile interface.
Can I read digital editions on an iPad or an iPhone?
Yes! Mygazines' mobile interface has been tested and is fully compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch - as such it is fully compatible with the iPad as well. Click here to read more about availability and technical requirements for Mygazines' mobile interface.
Which devices are Mygazines Mobile ready?
While it may work with other devices, Mygazynes' mobile interface has been tested and approved to work with:
- iPhone
- iPod Touch
- iPad
- HTC (Dream, Magic, Hero)
- LG Eve
- Motorola Droid (a.k.a. Motorola Milestone)
- BlackBerry Storm (and Storm2) **
In terms of technical requirements, your device only needs a minimum screen resolution of 320px x 320px to load the digital editions. Javascript and images must be enabled.
While more devices may prove to be compatible, we simply haven't been able to test them. Feel free to test on yours and let us know your experience!
** Because BlackBerry devices are not equipped with the latest Javascript technologies, some features (such as email to a friend and social bookmark) will appear differently on BlackBerries than with other devices. On this note, RIM has recently announced a new browser is on its way which should increase compatibility with the Mygazines Mobile interface.
Why a browser-based interface instead of an iPhone or Android App?
We wanted consumers to access your digital editions from almost any touch-screened device, and have an enjoyable reading experience.
The options were - create a specific App for every single device that exists on the market - or - create a universal mobile browser interface that feels like an app, but is accessible immediately across multiple devices. We went with the latter.
The result is something we like to call the Hybrid Mobile Interface. It's not an app, and it's also not a simple mobile website. Instead it uses the power of the mobile web browser (which all mobile devices have) to create a streamlined interface that is equally accessible across multiple devices while maintaining the experience iPhone and Android apps can provide.
By eliminating the need for a download from your readers, it's that much more likely that your content will actually be accessed on a mobile device. If you email out your latest issue link to your subscribers, for example, if they receive that email on an iPhone, they can immediately click the link and open up your publication. You can't do that with an app!
How do customers view digital editions on a mobile device?
Mygazines' mobile interface is very simple. It's not an app. Instead customers simply use the device's web browser. Publications are instantly available on most touch-screened devices, such as Motorola Droid, Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and even the new iPad. They don't have to download or pay for any additional software.
In case that you need it, here is a three step tutorial:
1) Go to your device's browser and enter the URL of the digital edition you wish to view (the same address you would use on your laptop of desktop PC).
2) The mobile interface for that publication will be automatically displayed. It is very intuitive and easy to use.

3) Readers navigate by the press of a button, and by clicking anywhere to zoom in. The interface also includes virtually all of Mygazines' popular features, such as:
- Page flipping -

- Article lists -

- Social bookmarking -

- E-mail sharing -

- Page thumbnails -

- Zoom - by clicking anywhere on the screen
- Internal page links as well as website links
- Subscription module and Title security login
If readers feel the text is too small, a text-only option is also available to load a page’s textual content via the
button on the toolbar. It loads only the textual content and it can be viewed either in lanscape or portrait mode.
