An Internet sensation with huge prospects, here is a young artist who deserves this hype. If you don't know, get to know. Wake up. Stop sleeping. Where have you been? EVENT REVIEW D'Angelo @ Brixton Academy 3rd Feb Harlem's favourite and Hip- hop's current darling, A$AP Rocky burst onto the 2011 scene after generating heavy internet buzz fol- lowing his YouTube hits, "Peso" and "Purple Swag." Following the October release of his debut mixtape and a $3 million (£1.9 million) record deal with Sony/RCA, the buzz only continued to grow. And grow. And grow. Lauded for his ability to flow effortlessly over trippy, experimental beats, Rocky absolutely killed it on his debut mixtape, 'LiveLoveA$AP', which ranked in at number nine on Stereogum's "Top 50 Albums of 2011". In December, Rocky was nominated for BBC's Sound of 2012 poll. Since then, he has continued to receive praise on collaborations with rising artists and producers, including Clams Casino, AraabMuzik, OverDoz and Schoolboy Q. So what's next? A tour (with his A$AP Crew) and a Coachella appearance. $wag.
